The sandstone Kaltbach caves are found within the Santenberg mountain in Switzerland, where cheeses have been matured since the 1950s. During the five months Kaltbach Creamy of maturing in the caves, the cheese develops a buttery and creamy texture with a strong mature taste. An extra portion of Swiss cream adds to the creamy texture and taste. A true master piece that will always excite any cheese board. A versatile cheese, which pairs well with berries, honey and fruit as well as well a quality Chardonnay.
The Kaltbach ‘Cave Masters’ are experts in cheese maturation and refinement. The cave lies fifteen metres below the sandstone surface and offers the perfect conditions for ripening. The constant temperature and humid mineral climate found here aid in the months of maturing and develops the flavour and dark rind. The ‘Cave Masters’ maintain these conditions and care for the cheese throughout the process..
Each piece is wrapped and then put in a bag. Keep refrigerated but best served at room temperature.
