It’s granular and crumbly texture and strong flavour make Pecorino Romano the perfect alternative to Parmesan in cooking. Whether grated on pasta dishes or accompanying a plate of cured meats, this Italian cheese is versatile and will work on a cheeseboard or in cooking.
Dating back to Roman times, when it is said to have been eaten by the Roman Army, whilst at war, Pecorino Romano is still made using traditional methods. It can only be made in certain regions and islands of Italy and is matured to add to the flavour of this great cheese.
Each piece is wrapped and then put in a bag. Keep refrigerated but best served at room temperature.
